New visibility for suburb-specific terms
Local search impressions
Reduced by over 60%
Site load time
Owner now self-sufficient
Time to update content
“Our old site was impossible to update and we had no idea if anyone was finding us. The rebuild gave us something we actually understand and trust.”
The situation
A sole trader running a trade services business in Western Sydney had a website built by a previous contractor several years prior. The site had not been updated since it launched. Plugins were generating errors, two service pages had broken images, and the mobile experience was unusable.
The business was receiving all new enquiries through word of mouth and an outdated listing in a local directory. The website was essentially invisible.
The diagnosis
A structured audit identified the following gaps:
- No meaningful metadata on any page (all using the site name as the title tag)
- No structured data of any kind
- Google Business profile was unclaimed
- Three broken links on the homepage
- Mobile page speed score below 30/100
- No contact form — only a phone number in the header
- Services were described in a single paragraph on a single page
The approach
Rather than patch the existing site, a rebuild was the right call. The platform was outdated, the theme was no longer maintained, and the content structure was not salvageable.
The rebuild used a static architecture: fast by default, low maintenance overhead, and structured for search from the ground up.
Service pages were restructured into five separate pages, each targeting the specific service and suburb combination that the business actually operated in. Each page has its own metadata, its own contact prompt, and its own structured data.
The outcome
Within 90 days of launch:
- The business was appearing in local search results for suburb-specific service terms it had no presence for previously
- Enquiry form submissions began coming through the website regularly
- The Google Business profile was active, verified, and linked to the new site
- The owner was updating service information themselves, without needing technical help
The site continues to be maintained under a care plan — monthly content checks, performance monitoring, and Search Console review.
